How We Work

At the Children's Support Coalition we organize, plan, and facilitate Community Resource Coordination Group (CRCG) meetings designed to locate and coordinate needed resources. CRCG is a local interagency group comprised of both public and private agency representatives. There are 11 state agencies mandated to attend meetings and a number of private sector service providers attend these meetings as well. These are "round table" discussions, with the client, to develop a service plan tailored to the needs of the individual or family. After an individualized service plan has been developed, we follow up on the cases to be sure the children and families have received the support they require. We are the only group in Williamson County to offer interagency service coordination and location for children with complex mental health needs.

Once the necessary services are located it is often extremely difficult, if not impossible, to find funding for the families' needs. When no other funding source can be found, The Children's Support Coalition provides funding for the specific needs of these children. Examples of items we fund include respite, counseling, therapeutic camp fees, and parenting classes. Approval of each request is on a case-by-case basis and must be approved by the CSC Board of Directors.
