Success Stories

I'm a single mom with 2 kids, one in daycare full time. Both in daycare full time in the summer. My son has several learning disabilities and sensory issues. In the past horseback riding has really helped calm him down. My son wanted to attend a week of horse camp but I had no way to pay for horse camp and the daycare too.

Children's Support Coalition came through for my son and gave us a partial scholarship for the horsecamp. The week he was riding horses he even did better at the regular daycare.

Just wanted to say a big "thank you" for the help your group provided for summer camp for my kids. The e-mail with information about possible help came in at the nick of time when my family was busy trying to crunch numbers and to solicit help from friends and neighbors to get us over the hump. Words can never express our gratitude. My kids are now enjoying the camp and are so excited to get up early and get ready. Each day they are dressed and waiting for us. I would like to thank you and the entire CRCG group for helping us with our daughter. Because of your recommendation letter to Waco Center for Youth, she was bumped up to second on the waiting list instead of twenty-fourth! Now she can get the help she needs much sooner than we had expected. Thanks to all those volunteers who took time out of their day to meet with us.

Thank you for your help in locating a summer camp appropriate for my son. I was able to get Jake enrolled in a day-camp specifically for children with Autism. It is so great for him to be able to socialize with other kids his age. This is such a wonderful opportunity for him that I would have otherwise been unaware of.

A thank you is not enough to show how much I appreciate the support you have given my family over the summer. The funds your office provided for respite care for my son allowed me some much needed time away from my regular full-time mom duties, so that I could get other necessary things done.

Sometimes running errands with a special needs child in tow is not always possible. Simple things like getting my car inspected, buying clothes for the family, going to the doctor, etc., would not be comfortably accomplished without the help of others. Your office provided the financial support to afford the help I needed to get these kinds of things done.
