About Us Mission Statement: The Children's Support Coalition seeks to strengthen families by providing flexible supports to children who are at risk of, or those with, mental health needs. Vision Statement: The Children's Support Coalition envisions Williamson County children receiving adequate supports to live mentally and emotionally healthy lives. History: The makings of The Children's Support Coalition were set into motion when the Texas Legislature passed Senate Bill 298 into law in 1987. This bill directed state agencies serving children to develop a community-based approach to better coordinate services for children and youth with multi-agency needs that require interagency coordination. However, no funding was provided for this initiative. Community volunteers headed this process until the Children's Support Coalition was formed on June 12, 2001 to fulfill this duty. Since it's inception, The Children's Support Coalition has served over 300 families in Williamson County. |
